The ingredients needed to make Farali dhokla:
  1. Take 1 cup sama rice
  2. Get 1/4 cup sabudana (sago)
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup yoghurt
  4. Take 1/2 cup water
  5. Take 1/2 teaspoon baking powder or 1 teaspoon eno
  6. Take to taste Salt
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  8. Prepare 1 teaspoon chilli paste
  9. Get Tadka
  10. Get 2 tablespoon oil
  11. Make ready 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Shahi Jeera)
  12. Make ready 2 teaspoon curry leaves
  13. Take 1 teaspoon sugar
  14. Take 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  15. Take 1/4 cup water

This Sama ka Dhokla is light on the stomach and I often make it instead of Idli in my home. Farali Kuttu Singhara ka Dhokla is a quick, easy and Instant steamed savory snack or a full meal which is generally enjoyed during fasting or vrat days. with step-wise pictures + video - These dhoklas are perfect to have with tea or coffee durinf fasting (or vrat). These are so spongy and tasty and you will be tempted to make them on non-fasting days too.

Steps to make Farali dhokla:
  1. Grind the sama rice in a grinder. - Grind the sabudana separately. - Add both the flour in a bowl. Add salt, green chilli paste, ginger paste and yoghurt and mix well. Add water and mix. The batter should look of a thick consistency. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes. Blitz it in a blender to get a smooth paste.
  2. In a steamer add about two glasses of water and bring it to boil. - Grease a plate with oil to steam the dhokla.
  3. Transfer the batter in a bowl and add eno and 1 teaspoon of water and mix it well. Transfer the batter in the plate and place it in the steamer. Cover and steam for 20 minutes.
  4. After 20 minutes remove from the steamer and let it cool. Once cool remove from the plate and make desired shape pieces. Leave it aside and prepare for tadka.
  5. Add 2 tablespoon oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, sesame seeds and curry leaves. Once it starts spluttering add water, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon sugar. Turn off the gas and pour the tadka on top of the dhokla. - Enjoy
