The ingredients needed to make Sausage Bun:
  1. Make ready For the Bun
  2. Prepare 350 ml water - warm
  3. Prepare 1 egg (60g) lightly beaten
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp corn oil/butter
  5. Get 1 tsp salt
  6. Take 2 tbsp sugar
  7. Take 600 g bread flour
  8. Take 3 tbsp milk powder
  9. Take 1 tsp bread improver
  10. Prepare 2 tsp active dry yeast
  11. Get 12 Sausages - pre cooked
  12. Get Egg Wash
  13. Get 1 egg + 1 tbsp fresh milk
  14. Prepare (Beaten)
  15. Take Second Wash
  16. Take 1-2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions to make Sausage Bun:
  1. Mix water, sugar & yeast. Keep aside until yeast turns foamy (10mins)
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the rest of the dry ingredients well.
  3. Then add oil, eggs & yeast mixture. In a mixer using dough hook, knead the dough until it turns stretchy. If kneading by hand, you will feel the dough becomes elastic after kneading for 10-15mins. Try stretching the dough & its ready when it does not break when stretched.
  4. Transfer dough to a big greased bowl, cover with damp cloth/greased cling film for 45mins - 1hour or until double in size. Take the dough out from the bowl, deflate by touching lightly.
  5. Weigh & divide dough into equal portions & shape into balls. Flatten the ball, then roll into long cylinders, 2- 3 times longer than the sausage used. Wrap this around the sausage & place on baking sheet. cover with greased cling film & let rise again for 30-45mins. Brush buns with egg wash right before baking.
  6. Pre heat oven to 170°C depending on the oven and bake for 15mins or until turn golden brown. Once baked, take out from the oven and brush buns with melted butter while still hot.
